In times of social isolation, veterinary telemedicine provides a safe, secure opportunity to remotely visit your veterinarian or registered veterinary technician for peace of mind.
The Animal Hospital of Cambridge is pleased to offer video and text-based remote consultations with patients in the Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Orangeville and Greater Toronto Area.
Using our new, online platform, patients can quickly connect with a member of our professional veterinary team. Only when necessary will patients be triaged in-clinic for further diagnostic care.
Please also note that in - hospital appointments are also available for those able to visit us in person with their pet by calling 519-624-9760.
Phase 1 : Opening to Public Protocol

Phase 1 of Re-Opening to the Public Started July 9th:
Your Animal Hospital of Cambridge team would like to take a moment and thank you for your loyalty. We know the last several months have not been simple as we've worked throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, so we thank you for your patience and support. As always, your veterinary care team has your best interests in mind, which is why we're announcing new reopening protocol throughout the remainder of this email. This protocol takes effect as of July 9th, so please read carefully.
Phase One Reopening Protocol
The declining rate of new infections (of COVID-19) combined with the summer heat has encouraged AHOC to open our lobby to clients. Clients will not be allowed in examination rooms as social distancing remains challenging within small spaces. However, clients are encouraged to sit and relax in our lobby while the patient is being examined. This means no more waiting in cars!
Upon Booking an Appointment
We understand it's been difficult to reach our front desk lately - our call volume has certainly been higher than usual. As a result, we're making adjustments to our appointment booking protocol to help serve you better.
Please continue to phone us to book your appointment (519-624-9760). Upon confirming your appointment, an email will automatically be sent to you containing a link to an online form. Please submit this form in advance of your appointment - it will help contextualize the reason for your concern and will help the veterinarian better assess your pet. This form will also greatly reduce the time spent on the phone, thereby opening up our phone lines!
Ordering Pet Food and Prescription Refills
If you would like to order food and/or prescription refills online, you may do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure to provide your full name, pets name, item you are requesting (please specify quantity or size) and the phone number we have your file listed under. We will process your order within 24-48 hours ( emails are checked Monday to Friday) and will notify you when your order is ready. Alternatively, you can sign up to our webstore to have your pets food, treats, toys and grooming supplies delivered right to your home by visiting our website.
Upon Arriving for your Appointment
Upon arriving, please check in with a member of our team outside the entrance. This team member, now known as the Greeter, will be ready to welcome you and your pet into the building. She will also ensure you have a mask on hand - MASKS ARE MANDATORY to enter the building.
Sit Back and Relax
Unless your pet has a quick in-and-out appointment (think nail trim, anal gland expression, quick blood test for example), we will continue with a contactless drop off for these types of appointments. If your pet has an appointment with the vet, take a seat in our new lounge chairs and relax in cool air while your pet is being examined. If the doctor has any questions, he or she will meet you in the lobby. If you have any questions, we'll make sure they're answered!
